About Me
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and a native of Houston. I finished my undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Houston and earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. I completed a year of post-doctoral training in New York City at the Mount Sinai Medical School.
As an undergraduate at UH, I developed a special interest in Autism Spectrum Disorders by working as an ABA therapist. My graduate work in the field of ASD included publishing research papers on the treatment of, and quality of life for, individuals on the autism spectrum, writing grants to fund autism research, and investigating new ways to treat autism spectrum disorders. I also served as Research Director for an autism clinic (Relationship Development Institute, Houston) and served as director for a non-profit autism research center (Foundation for Autism Research and Remediation, Houston).
I have been in private practice in Kingwood for about 13 years serving this wonderful community.
My goal is to help all children and adults realize and develop their full potential. Whether the concern is ASD, ADHD, or LD.
"I believe in change and that we all have the capacity to adapt to our environment,
no matter the obstacles we are facing."
For Children
Autism is on the rise with one in 110 children affected every year; ADHD and ADD affect 3-5% of school-aged children; between 6 and 16% of boys and girls struggle with behavior problems affecting academics and family life; and up to 10% of children in the U.S. will be affected by severe anxiety or depression.
It’s hard to know, with all the daily challenges of raising a child in our current climate, whether we are on the right track. You may not be sure what is “normal” for your child and what constitutes a “disorder”. But as a parent, your intuition is your best tool to determine if your child is struggling.
I can guide you through the process of assessing what’s “normal” behavior for your child and how to address their challenges at home and school.
For Adults
I offer evaluations for adults whether you are wondering if your struggles with attention, learning, or socializing are due to a diagnosable disorder, or you need an updated evaluation that will allow you to seek out accommodations at college or work.
